South Roots International focuses on the identity and strengths of an individual to maximise their potential. This is done through various training programs, with a strong focus on one on one mentoring.

2026 Internship will focus on live-in, hands on social transformation experience in and around Cape Town and  the Helderberg Region of the Western Cape in South Africa.  After the internship is completed, the individual may apply for a three year commitment, to be part of this dynamic, team.  The internship aims to equip missionaries for the mission field and community developers for community impact. It also equips and prepares the youth for life post matric.

         2 February 2026 – 17 December 2026

LOCATION:

267 Firland Meadow, Gordon’s Bay 7140

TRAINING AND ACCOMMODATION FEES:  R2000 per month / R22000 per year

NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF R2000 ON REGISTRATION after application approval.  This fee accounts for your first month payment.

PAYMENTS:

Full Payment must be made to South Roots International in advance or monthly payment ahead of each month.

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES OF THE INTERNSHIP

1. Training in Cultural Redemption for social transformation

2. Early Childhood Development using gymnastics and performing arts. CHIEFS – Creative Holistic Indigenous Education for Sustainability.

3. Training in Performing Arts for Social Transformation, Film & Video Tech.

4.  Individuals Serve / Participate  in areas of:   Administration, Farming & Maintenance, Performances, Media, Outreaches, Youth camps, Sporting Activities.

5. Over the year, Individuals complete a Discipleship Training Course through the University of the Nations (YWAM) plus an accredited seminar in Arts for Social Transformation.

Desired Outcomes

• Students must  have an awareness of their personal identity and strengths of their own nation.
• Deepening of personal & biblical worldview.
• The student must understand their history and the redemptive stories that were placed in their people group by God so that they can discover Him and His purpose for them.
• Discover distortions within their own cultures and find principles to bring about redemption.
• Appreciation of diversity and God’s intention for it?
• A clear understanding of honoring God through culture and the expression thereof.
• Create platforms for the celebration of the expression of each nation of students represented   to understand principles of honor and protocol, learning to love and embrace it.
• The student must leave with an understanding of the role of first nations.

  • Students must have the ability to critically think through today’s events such as the refugee crisis, USA’s political climate, Brexit etc.
  • Each student will walk away with tools for community transformation.
